TrackDRIVE-200™ eddy current probe pusher is designed to reduce probe slippage by dramatically increasing the contact area between the probe shaft and the pusher. The track design also simplifies the mechanical design of the tester yielding the additional benefits of few moving parts and reduced weight.
The takeup spool uses a torque motor instead of a complicated clutch/chain drive. This has many benefits. There is no wear surface and nothing to adjust. Also, because there is no chain, the pusher can now be broken down into three separate sections for ease in transport.
An encoder rides on the probe shaft to allow for precise positioning without slippage. This is integrated with the EddyVision automatic acquisition software.
